You Can Experience the Magic of White Sands National Park with a Live Jazz Band
Here’s something you don’t always see in a national park: live music. White Sands National Park officials say they’re hosting a concert on Friday, September 29, with a jazz band.
The event is part of the park’s Full Moon Night events. As the name implies, guests can expect to see the full moon’s light shine on the white dunes that make the park famous. All of this while also enjoying relaxing music in the park’s amphitheater.
If you’re lucky enough to attend, White Sands officials say you don’t need tickets, but you should arrive early to grab a spot. Guests should bring their own chairs or blankets to enjoy the evening. The park in southeast New Mexico will open the parking lot at 6:00 p.m. local time, with the event starting at 7:00 p.m.
Next week’s event is the second of three planned events that celebrate the culture of the surrounding communities.
White Sands is one of the newest sites officially dubbed a “national park.” However, the site has attracted guests for years with its rolling white hills composed of gypsum.
