RICHMOND, B.C. – RV Careers announces in a press release the success of its participation in the “Empowering Women in Trades” area at the 2025 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC), held in Regina, Saskatchewan on May 29 and 30.

With invaluable support from the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA), the RVDA of Saskatchewan, Affordable Trailer Sales, SAIT and Village RV, the RV Careers team engaged over 1,500 students, teachers, and parents, helping them explore the diverse opportunities within the dynamic RV sector, the release stated.

The interactive booth provided a hands-on experience, allowing many attendees to discover the thrill of using tools for the first time while constructing a fun, tangible item like a BBQ grill stick. This activity served as an exciting introduction to the practical skills essential across various trades, including those vital to the RV service technician trade.

“Participating in this event and connecting with so many engaged students, educators, and parents was an exceptional experience,” stated Sarah Mass, Owner of Affordable Trailer Sales and President of the Saskatchewan RVDA. “As a smaller dealership and association, we consistently seek avenues to broaden our outreach and cultivate meaningful dialogues. We extend our sincere gratitude to RVDA of Canada for affording us this invaluable opportunity.”

The focus on “Empowering Women in Trades” resonated strongly with attendees, highlighting the growing presence and vital contributions of women in skilled professions.

“It is incredibly important to invite our local partners to experience firsthand the depth and tangible impact of community engagement,” added Anita Lien, RVDA of Canada Director of Marketing and Communications. “Witnessing students, particularly young women, utilize a drill for the very first time and seeing their faces immediately illuminate with discovery was truly gratifying. I am always touched by the opportunity to provide such an empowering initial experience and to highlight the abundant opportunities within our industry, where a career can commence as early as a youth apprenticeship in Grade 10.”

RV Careers’ long-standing commitment to promoting skilled trades to Canadian youth continues to make a significant impact. The success in Regina underscores the industry’s dedication to fostering a diverse and skilled workforce for the future.

The Skills Canada National Competition is Canada’s only national, multi-trade, and technology competition for students and apprentices. It provides a unique opportunity for young Canadians to explore and discover skilled trade and technology careers through hands-on activities and direct engagement with industry professionals.

Looking ahead, the 2025 Skills Canada National Competition will be held in Toronto, Ontario, where RV Careers anticipates continuing its mission to inspire and educate the next generation of RV professionals.
