inTech RV Debuts 22-Foot Terra Magnolia Travel Trailer

NAPPANEE, Ind. – inTech RV introduced its new Terra Magnolia 22-foot travel trailer to its dealer body and customer base at 2 p.m. EST June 22 online and in social media. Just prior to the launch, RVBusiness met with two inTech sales and marketing staff, Keith Fishburn and Kale Elkins, at its showroom in Nappanee. where one of the first production units was on display.

“This Terra Magnolia we are sitting in has the Rover package that has larger, off road wheels and a lift kit for more adventure camping,” said Fishburn of the new lightweight, aluminum-framed addition to its popular Terra line of travel trailers. “We have a base model that would have a smaller wheel on it and not quite as much lift. The rover package gets you about three inches more of ground clearance. A lot of our customers with these smaller, lightweight products end up doing quite a bit of off-grid camping.”

He explained that the new, high-end Terra Magnolia is meeting a demand for this type of camper with a more mid-sized offering from its 26-foot Terra. It has an optional off-grid solar lithium package as well.

“That gets you 400 watts of solar, 200 amp hours of lithium batteries, a 2,000-watt inverter with an MPPT charge controller,” he added. “With that system, you can run everything. You can run your air conditioner, every outlet inside the unit, so you can go completely off-grid and sustain power.”

He explained what sets inTech apart from its competitors, mirroring the company’s tagline, “Because There is a Difference” is its dedication to lightweight, aluminum framed building processes. It is of note that the base frame on the Terra series resem     bles the robust A-frames seen on aluminum saltwater boat trailers.

“One thing that really sets inTech apart from everybody else out there,” Fishburn explained, “is that this is an all-aluminum base frame that we build in-house. Then this is our aluminum tube side walls and roof that we build in-house. We actually weld all that together. As this unit starts down the production line, it’s one solid welded cage. These aren’t laminated walls, nothing’s screwed or stapled together. It’s all a solid structure.”

He said that it makes for a stiffer, more durable aluminum foundation for hanging interior cabinets, affixing appliances, doors and furniture.

“You’re not hanging onto a wall or a roof that is just simply stapled together,” he said. “It’s solid structure. As extreme campers take this into more demanding areas, doors are going to continue to work, things won’t bind up or come loose because of all the twisting and racking that happens.”

Inside the new inTech 22 Terra Magnolia has a modern, monochromatic décor of white cabinets and dark mahogany wood tones that provide the effect of a more expansive interior space. This  combined with a massive, radius automotive glass window that wraps more than eight feet just above the dinette in the front of the coach brings the outside in.

Part of the expansive feel inside is brought on by the unique crowned roof, from front to back, that has become an inTech Terra profile signature. Large windows continue all the way around the interior of the coach capped off by a big window over the east-to-west oriented rear queen bed. It is a practical layout for couples of small families as the large U-shaped, front dinette converts to a full-sized bed. No slides needed. There is a larger, white-gloss-coated aluminum, encapsulated wet bath pod with sink, toilet and shower.

Outside Fishburn pointed out details starting with the massive front window.

“This is a three-ply laminated glass, just like a car windshield,” he said. “Then we do supply them with a windshield cover. When you’re going down the road, you don’t have to worry about rock chips or anything on it.”

As the weight of the new Terra is around 5,000 pounds composites are used throughout the unit with the deck formed of a three-quarter-inch dry max decking that is resin-infused not to absorb water.

“Then we actually use a layer, a corrugated plastic layer along the frame first, then set that on top so it’s completely sealed off from the exterior.”

Outside the rear of the coach has a big baggage compartment with an optional slide out kitchen.

This is a higher-end coach for quality minded BoonDockers and millennial couples and families wanting a combination of adventure and luxury. The starting MSRP on the new Terra Magnolia is $61,000.
