Massive Pile of PPE and Medical Equipment Dumped On British Campground
A huge pile of unused packs of personal protective equipment (PPE), including medical aprons and possibly face masks, was uncovered on land in the New Forest area of Hampshire in England.
The discovery has left authorities baffled as to how the items came to be there, after a drone captured images of hundreds of boxes stacked near a local nature reserve and campground. The revelation was made during a Hampshire County Council meeting last Wednesday, where councillors were reportedly horrified by the discovery.
According to Sky News, a public committee reported that the government had “lost 75% of the £12 billion ($12.9B USD) it spent on personal protective equipment in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic to inflated prices and kit that did not meet requirements.”
