Truma Q&A Talks with Nick Riebe of @CapstoneAdventures

Editor’s Note: Truma Q&A is a recurring feature found on the blog page of the Truma website.

Truma caught up with Nick Riebe, the man behind the @CapstoneAdventures Instagram account, at Overland Expo West last month. He shared his experience with Truma Systems and how they perform in overlanding and off-grid situations.

Q: What Truma Systems do you use, and how do they make overlanding “Simply Better”?

A: I have used many Truma systems over the years. I tested a few prototypes that have now become available in the U.S., like the Aventa. I can honestly say that German engineering reigns supreme, and I am excited to see what comes next!

Q: What is your best tip for overland or “off-grid” camping?

A: Go prepared! That will mean something different to each of us, as there are many variables to take into consideration for every trip. Environmental conditions, terrain, and trip duration should play a big role in your planning process. Do you need a heater? Hot water? AC? All of the above? Truma has solutions!

Q: What is the longest you’ve been able to stay “off-the-grid” with Truma systems?

A: Truma systems are only limited by fuel, power, and water. With a very low consumption rate of those three things, in my experience, almost indefinitely.
